There's no reason to be disappointed about a rainy day on Nantucket.  Here are a few of our favorite things to do on Nantucket on a rainy day or if you are just looking for a break from the beach!

The Dreamland Theater has been a part of the Nantucket cultural community since 1883.   In 2012 the Dreamland renovation was completed and ever since the building has been restored to its former glory.  The theater shows several movies a day in addition to concerts and special events throughout the year.  The Dreamland also runs children's theater programs throughout the summer. 

Explore The Whaling Museum's eleven unique galleries and exhibit spaces featuring thousands of artifacts and art pertaining to Nantucket life and art and Nantucket’s unique place in the world. From the 46-foot male sperm whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling, to the Hadwen & Barney Oil and Candle Factory, there is something for everyone at The Whaling Museum.  After visiting, and learning so much about Nantucket's history, you will feel a deeper connection to the island. 

The Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum is dedicated to preserving Nantucket's rich history of basket making. Visit this museum to learn about this history of the Nantucket Baskets and to see how they are made.
